Our Spare Time

Aside from eating and sleeping, I have spent most of my time here reading! Yes, I have become a slave to the Twilight series and have already sped through the first two books.

Nick has also been busy working... But he still gets lots of time with his little daughter!!

Maria has been making some eye contact recently, and she smiles in her sleep :) Aside from that, she is still very much a newborn.

Doc Appt, 6/23

Maria went to the doctors office in Ely yesterday for her 2 week check-up.  All in all, she received a clean bill of health!  Our biggest concern is getting her weight up.  She was born at 8 lbs, 5 oz, and is still lingering at 7 lbs, 8 oz as of yesterday.  Feeding her has been my new full-time job!  I have been waking her up every 3 hours, round the clock...  She nurses and now gets formula on top of that.  So far we have noticed her crying much less since the food marathons began :)  We'll go into the doc again in a week to get weighed again...  Lets hope she gets bigger!!

In Kawnipi...

This is where Nick, Maria and I are staying... It is called Kawnipi, and is located on the YMCA Camp DuNord grounds.  We have a beautiful view of the lake.  The cabin has a full bathroom, a little kitchen, and two bedrooms- as well as a living room.  It is quite cozy, and fits us perfectly!

Maria's Birth

Maria was born on Saturday, June 6th at 9:17pm.  She weighed 8 lbs, 5 oz, and was 20.5 inches long.

Nick and I arrived at the hospital at 3am that Saturday.  After a long morning, day and evening, Maria made her arrival in this world!  We stayed for 2 nights at Regions, and finally made our way back home on Monday evening.

We spend the next week at home recuperating.  There were lots of visitors for Maria, who brought lots of food for mom and dad!  Thanks :)

On Saturday June 13th we headed out of St. Paul for Ely.

Welcome to Maria's Blog!

Maria, Nick and I are spending the summer in the Boundary Waters near Ely, MN.  I thought, what better way to stay in touch, than to create a blog to post pictures and updates.  Enjoy!!  -Lindsey
